Hontoon Island State Park 
Getaway and Company Picnic
Hontoon Island is rustic, history-filled and unspoiled. Located in the St. John's River at Marker 53, it is accessible only by water (a free pedestrian ferry is available). While the Getaway is just for the day, you are welcome to stay on your boat, camp or rent a room at the Hontoon Landing Resort & Marina (800-248-2474).
We'll picnic at the pavillion on Sunday with Parker Boats suppling the meat. Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share.
There is a museum, store, kayak and canoe rentals and 3 miles of walking trails that lead to an Indian mound. This will be a "back to nature" day that you will truly enjoy.
